Secure Full-Duplex Communications via Spatially Correlated RIS Under Electromagnetic Interference

The paper investigates full-duplex (FD) physical layer security systems where FD Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) has shown a groundbreaking paradigm. Our aim is to maximize the secrecy rate while considering the ever-present Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) due to uncontrollable sources and spatial channel correlation. To achieve this goal, the maximal ratio combiner/maximal ratio transmitter processing technique is used to design the pre coder, and the combining vector whereas the RIS reflection beamforming matrix is designed with a heuristic approach that involves channel knowledge between the base station to RIS and RIS to the user. Simulation results illustrate the impact of EMI and channel correlation on the secrecy rate that can't be ignored for RIS-assisted practical systems.
