Procedures and IT infrastructures to manage Nation-wide Terrestrial Laser Scanners' Massive Data

At the end of 2023, the Department of Fire Corps of the Italian Ministry of Interior has completed the procurement and distribution of 13 high-end Terrestrial Lasers Scanners and the training of 90 firemen so as to be able to rapidly deploy over the whole National territory, 24/7/365, for forensic, building management and emergency purposes. The time lapsed from the process start in 2016 with the EU Research and Innovation action STORM, between others, was used to design and set-up the procedures and the IT infrastructure needed to properly manage the massive data retrieved by teams employing such instruments. The authors will describe procedures and IT infrastructures, as well as their rationale.
