Structural- Material Investigations on the Monumental Complex of San Domenico in Cosenza

The paper deals with the material-structural investigation activities of the San Domenico Monumental Complex in Cosenza, a 15th-century heritage construction located in Tommaso Campanella Square. These investigations provided the opportunity to investigate the physical and mechanical characteristics of the materials constituting the load-bearing elements of the monumental complex and to be able to achieve a level of LC3 knowledge useful for future local interventions of the structure. In order to achieve the set level of knowledge, a series of tests including: flat jacks, endoscopic tests, sclerometric investigations on wood and mortar, sonic tests, load tests on floors, penetrometer tests on wooden elements, moisture content tests on wooden elements, and visual assays, were carried out.
