Investigation of Methods for Measuring Temporal Characteristics of Mixers Using Vector Network Analyzer

This article describes an investigation of methods for measuring the temporal characteristics of non-linear paths that transfer the spectrum of the output signal of such a device to another frequency range using a vector network analyzer. Operation principle of frequency transfer devices described. Theoretical basis, basic concepts and terminology of the technology of frequency transfer devices described. The features of calibration of the investigated methods described. The features of measuring stands mentioned. The method of data processing obtained during data measurements for one of the mentioned methods presented. The error model for one of the mentioned methods presented. Using these methods and a vector network analyzer, investigations carried out on the real devices. The data obtained during the experiment presented and explained, and conclusions drawn about the advantages and disadvantages of the investigated methods. The accuracy of the methods also investigated, and conclusions about their metrological characteristics drawn based on the experimental data.
