AI Control System for Power Grid Based on Distributed Energy Resources

Advancements in energy technology have made it increasingly feasible and cost-effective to implement small-scale power systems, empowering communities and individuals to generate their own electricity and become more self-sufficient. Thus, small power systems based on distributed generation are a significant technological trend in power engineering development. The design and implementation of smart control systems for such grids is one of the top priorities for advancing the country’s technological leadership. In this regard, this article will present an artificial intelligence control system based on Large Language Model designed to assist stakeholders of smart grids effectively manage the decision-making process. Experiments, meticulously conducted using a simulated power grid model, robustly demonstrate the system’s efficacy in executing user commands and dynamically adapting to frequency variations. Comprehensive results of experiments, encompassing various operational scenarios, will also be presented. This study lays the essential groundwork for further refinement and experimentation, with far-reaching implications for advancing AI-driven grid management systems.
