Anisotropic Properties of 3D Printed Flexible Structure in the Sub-Terahertz Frequency Range

The results of the development and study of the THz electromagnetic response of a flexible anisotropic structure manufactured by additive layer-by-layer deposition technology are presented. The 3D printing materials used were thermoplastic polyurethane for the flexible substrate and conductive polyurethane for the ordered stripes. The results of optical microscopy and the methodology for producing flexible sensor are presented. The formation of conductive polyurethane filament was carried out by hot extrusion. The frequency and angular dependence of the transmission coefficient at angular positions from 0 to 360° are investigated theoretically and experimentally at 101-177 GHz frequency range. The angular dependence of the sample transmission coefficient was measured using a terahertz quasi-optical system, which operates in a continuous mode and uses the free space method for measurements. The radiation source is a backward-wave lamp, and the receiver is an optical-acoustic converter a Golay cell.
