Oscillation in Coupled Resonator Systems: Part VI - Study on Internal Resonance Sensing from Singe Trace to Multiple Traces with High Sensitivity

The idea of using the nonlinear internal resonance (IR) phenomenon to achieve highly sensitive trace sensing was first proposed by D.F. Wang et al. at IEEE DTIP in 2018 [26] with a sensitivity amplification scheme for single trace, while those for multiple traces have been continuously studied henceforth. In this brief review however, we are going to present various schemes on IR in coupled oscillators for highly sensitive trace sensing, starting from a new trace multi-warning one, a double amplification trace sensing one, to a synchronous sensing one for trace and driving force, then to a high stability sensing one with an insensitivity to driving fluctuations, finally to a simultaneous identification and detection one for multiple traces. Major challenges ahead will focus on exploring the physics of directional energy transfer in IR to realize precise analysis of analytes or substance for fundamental researches.
