Optimizing Printing Parameters on Dielectric Properties in Additive Manufacturing

With additive manufacturing, fast, cost-effective, and complex productions are possible to further establish its application in energy technology. A diverse array of parameters, including factors such as infill, component orientation, printing speed and printing temperature, can be intentionally adjusted. The application of experimental design in 3D-printing enables a systematic analysis of this extensive range of printing parameters to comprehend their distinct impacts on print quality. This methodology aids in determining the optimal settings for dielectric properties. Once the test specimen has been produced, the dissipation factor and the relative dielectric constant are determined in a range from 1 Hz to 5 kHz. A D-optimal experimental design is used to optimize the parameters. The parameter infill has a significant influence on the dielectric properties. The dissipation factor and relative permittivity increases. Furthermore, printing time can be reduced without causing a significant deterioration in dielectric properties. The application of design of experiments in the variation of 3D-printing parameters provided precise insights into their effects on the electrical properties.
