Galloping Mechanical Characteristics of Overhead Insulated Lines in 10 kV Distribution Network

Distribution overhead lines are susceptible to strong winds, ice cover and other detrimental factors. In recent years in China, distribution network overhead line galloping faults have occurred from time to time, which have affected people's normal life and caused great economic losses to the country. In this paper, ANSYS Workbench finite element analysis platform is used to establish a three-dimensional model of 10 kV single-file-pitch elliptical cross-section ice-covered overhead insulated line, analyze the aerodynamic characteristics and galloping mechanical characteristics of the line under different wind load conditions, and obtain the variation rule of the galloping amplitude frequency of the line with the wind speed, wind angle of attack and air flow angle of attack. There is a clear functional relationship between wind speed and wind angle of attack and line aerodynamic characteristics, and a weaker but still significant correlation between air flow angle of attack and line aerodynamic characteristics. The results can provide a reference for the design and erection of overhead insulated lines for 10 kV distribution networks, as well as for the prevention and control of galloping.
