A Study of Negative Differential Mobility in Low-Density Polyethylene Based on Kinetic Monte Carlo Analysis with Percolation

The mobility of low-density polyethylene exhibits a negative electric field dependence in the high electric field region. The negative electric field dependence can be approximated using a Gaussian disorder model which is used to analyze organic materials. Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations are performed to investigate the mechanism behind the negative differential mobility. The calculation shows that the negative electric field dependence of the mobility becomes stronger when the number of hopping sites in the material decreases.
