Defending AWS Cloud Infrastructure Using Deceptive Defense

In an increasingly digital world, safeguarding cloud-based resources from cyber threats is paramount. This research study introduces a novel approach to enhance security on Amazon Web Services (AWS) by employing deception tactics within the cloud infrastructure. Leveraging AWS services like CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and Network Firewall, alongside auto-mated re- sponse mechanisms using AWS Lambda and Event-Bridge, the proposed system detects and responds to malicious activities effectively. Upon detection, the system dynamically creates decoy infras- tructure using CloudFormation templates, diverting attackers to simulated environments for further analysis and mitigation. This approach offers a proactive defense strategy, augmenting traditional security measures and bolstering resilience against evolving cyber threats in AWS environments
