Innovative Approaches to Chronic Heart Failure Monitoring: A Critical Analysis of Wearable Devices

In the framework of the Smart Care research project, dedicated to developing an innovative system for the remote monitoring of patients with chronic heart failure, this paper introduces the system architecture and focuses on the pilot experimental phase, specifically addressing the selection of devices used for remote monitoring. The paper details the rationale behind choosing commercial devices and thoroughly examines their functionalities. It critically evaluates the limitations observed during the pilot experiment and proposes innovative solutions to overcome these challenges. By elucidating the choices made in device selection and presenting solutions for improvement, this research contributes to the continuous development of effective telemedicine solutions for the management of chronic heart failure.
