Integrated Centralized Framework for Industrial Automation

This paper presents an integrated framework leveraging the latest advancements in industrial automation, particularly focusing on the synthesis of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) within a Docker container environment on the Ubuntu platform. It emphasizes the transformative impact of technologies such as the MQTT protocol, Docker containers, and digital twins, aligned with the principles of Industry 4.0, on enhancing efficiency, productivity, and adaptability in manufacturing and production environments. The research outlines the historical evolution of industrial automation, from basic mechanical devices to sophisticated programmable logic controllers and the integration of cutting-edge IoT devices, showcasing a comprehensive framework that promotes real-time data exchange, event-driven interactions, and operational efficiency through the use of MQTT for efficient system communication and Docker for application scalability and portability. The paper discusses the challenges of protocol integration and data translation while proposing future directions for research, including advanced protocol integration, enhanced security measures, performance optimization, and scalability, aiming to foster a more intelligent and responsive industrial ecosystem.
