Approaches, Contexts, and Critiques of UX Pedagogy: An Exploration of Themes from an Integrative Literature Review

As the field of technical and professional communication (TPC) continues to grow and change, graduates of our programs are pursuing careers in emerging sub-fields. UX is one such sub-field that has become central to the overall TPC discipline. However, very little attention has been paid to pedagogical approaches for teaching UX within TPC, though that is starting to change. To foster more work on UX pedagogy, and as part of an ongoing research project examining UX pedagogy literature over the past 20 years, this paper examines approaches, contexts, and critiques of UX pedagogy. We do so by identifying themes from a larger integrative literature review on UX pedagogy.
