The Application of Aeromagnetic 3-D Geophysical Inversion in the Exploration of Lead–Zinc Polymetallic Deposits in Forested Areas

Aeromagnetic data inversion integrates magnetic anomalies and geological information to determine the positioning, shape, and properties of subsurface targets. In response to increasing demands for structural analysis, this technique has evolved into 3-D inversion. In this study, we employ 3-D magnetic susceptibility inversion of aeromagnetic data from a forested area in Yichun. The study reveals a north-south oriented, gourd-shaped magnetic rock body indicative of a lead-zinc deposit. Based on the results of 2-D magnetic susceptibility inversion, a highly magnetized rock body was identified within the study area, located at depths between 200 and 500 m and extending approximately 600 m east-west. The central coordinates are (503500, 5265850) m. These findings establish a robust geophysical foundation for future lead-zinc exploration in the region.
