Fault Diagnosis of High Voltage Contactor Using Acoustic Monitoring

In this study, the fault diagnosis method of contactor using acoustic data was verified. Acoustic monitoring method can monitor the target without contact, reducing the risk of electric shock that occurs during maintenance, and the negative impact of target equipment due to the sensor failure. Although there are some previous studies of acoustic monitoring on rotating machines, there is few on contactors. In this study 30kV contactor was used to obtain normal and simulated fault data. Fault diagnosis algorithm was developed and these data was used for verification. As a result, it was clarified that proposed method can diagnose faults of contactor with high accuracy from acoustic data.
