Heavy Duty Conveyor Drive with Relay Controller

During a long time, DC motors were used for mechanisms transporting heavy-weight loads, but the operation of those drives caused a number of problems due to their more complex design features, higher price, and weighty dimensions. An alternative to the DC type of motor at the moment is the two-phase motor, which is capable of taking on large loads on the shaft at the time of start-up, being simpler as a construction, and much more reliable. In this work, a specific control algorithm is proposed for a three-phase inverter that uses a non-standard method of connecting the windings of a two-phase motor. The research that was conducted showed a good robustness of the proposed solution.
