Part 2: Design Alternatives for Power Inductor of the 10 kW 3-Phase Vienna Rectifier

The second part of 3-phase Vienna Rectifier Reference Design is focused to the design, comparison, and optimization of more various mechanical and electro-magnetic constructions of PFC/Boost chokes. On the market we can found a lot of final products which are focused manly for low and medium power (from 100 W up to few k W). But if we are designing a power supply with higher power (3 and more kW), a customized solution is needed from more reasons, as high-power level, mechanical construction of final products (specific dimensions), or the cooling method - cold plate solution or water cooled chassis is more complex as for air cooled power supplies.
