Comparative Study of Different Pricing Algorithms on P2P Market-Based Multicarrier Energy Communities: A Case Study in Bilbao

Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading is considered as a promising solution to enable an innovative local market structure creation within energy communities, which could lead to benefits such as an increased local energy consumption, distribution network loss reduction and additional revenue streams for prosumers involved. The present paper presents a comparative study between different pricing mechanisms for the definition of the internal P2P market prices by the Energy Market Coordinator (EMC) in a local P2P market. The analysis is executed using an integrated Energy Management System (EMS) that optimizes energy dispatch of a multicarrier energy community that participates in a P2P market. Obtained results show that pricing algorithms can be an effective way for obtaining additional savings.
