Harmonic Current Analysis for a Five-Phase Harmonic-Excited Synchronous Machine

This paper presents a five-phase harmonic-excited synchronous machine. In this harmonic current analysis, the impact of various parameters of the harmonic current component is studied on the machine parameters. The specific operation regions studied here are zero-speed, constant torque region, and high-speed region with field-weakening. The results present an observation that the harmonic component needs to be controlled differently for the above-mentioned speed zones.
