5G and Future Communications: Spectrum Sharing and the Evolution of the Digital Society

The rise of 5G technology has already led to dramatic changes in the communications sector, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the digital society of the future. However, the success of 5G not only relies on innovative technologies, but also requires effective management of limited spectrum resources. Spectrum sharing as a solution is increasingly becoming a key topic for 5G and future communications. The aim of this paper is to explore the importance and impact of spectrum sharing in 5G and future communications. First, we review the background and characteristics of 5G technology, emphasizing its wide range of application areas. Next, we introduce the concept of spectrum sharing, explore the challenges of limited spectrum resources, and present the advantages of spectrum sharing, including higher spectrum utilization, wider coverage, and the potential to foster innovation and development. Spectrum sharing is also accompanied by a number of challenges, including interference problems, regulatory and policy issues, and security concerns. We therefore emphasize the importance of international, national and regional cooperation and coordination to ensure effective implementation of spectrum sharing.
