Review of IoT NTN Core Network Enhancement Technologies

Through a study of the demand and the research on integration on satellite and terrestrial networks, the network architecture for NB-IoT(Narrow band Internet of Thing) based on GEO satellite system is put forward. Based on the Characteristics of GEO Satellite Communication System, the key technical issues in access control, enhancements to support voice and service control, including control strategies based on consumer subscription information, priority, and integration of satellite and terrestrial networks, as well as control schemes for data, SMS, and voice services are analyzed. It is believed that associated solutions will expand the service application area and improve the efficiency of network resource for NB-IoT based on GEO satellite system. At the same time, prospect on future trend for the integration on satellite and terrestrial networks technology is provided.
