An Interleaved boost converter for connecting distributed generation sources to Bipolar DC Microgrids

This paper proposes a novel high step-up converter based on Interleaved Boost structure with two symmetrical outputs, which makes it suitable for bipolar DC microgrid (BPDCMG) applications. The structure eliminates problems associated with the unbalancing of BPDCMG and prevents flow of leakage currents through the grid. The proposed converter has continuous input current with low ripple and has a common ground with output’s neutral point makes it suitable for BPDCMG. In this paper, the proposed converter is discussed and a 640 W prototype of the proposed converter is simulated in balanced an unbalanced situations to verify the operation of the structure.
