Connected Parking Innovations: Enhancing Urban Mobility through IoT Integration

This research work introduces a smart parking system leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology to address urban parking challenges. It utilizes sensors to detect parking slot availability and communicates this data via Wi-Fi to an IoT platform accessible globally. Through this system, users can remotely access real-time parking availability information from anywhere, facilitating efficient parking space utilization. The implementation involves Raspberry Pi interfacing with sensors to detect parking status and transmitting this information to the IoT platform using HTTP. The platform displays the data, enabling users to identify vacant parking slots conveniently. This solution enhances urban mobility by reducing time spent searching for parking, thus alleviating traffic congestion and environmental impact associated with vehicle emissions. Additionally, it demonstrates the practical application of IoT in addressing everyday challenges, showcasing the potential for technology to streamline urban infrastructure and improve the quality of life.
