An Algorithm for Automatic Analysis of the Etymology of Romanian Words

The paper presents a computational method and the related software tool to determine the etymology of words (lemmas), as well as examples of results obtained for several Romanian literary texts. The problem of etymologic analysis is almost lacking in the AI literature; hence the relevance of this paper. The results can be used in research in linguistics and computational linguistics.
