Energy-Saving and Economic Analysis of Central Air-Conditioning Upgrading in Thermal Power Plants

This study examines the HVAC system upgrade at a thermoelectric power plant, focusing on both its administrative and residential buildings. The aim is to replace the existing air-cooled heat pump units with more efficient and reliable lithium bromide units, followed by an economic analysis. Results show a significant reduction in initial investment by 387,000 yuan and operational costs by 386,000 yuan post-renovation. Additionally, electricity consumption in the residential area during the cooling season sees a noteworthy decrease of 432,540 kilowatt-hours annually compared to pre-renovation levels. Through a 15-year lifecycle assessment, it's projected that this upgrade could save 1,420.5 tons of standard coal and cut CO2 emissions by 9,064.5 tons.
