Computation Method for Ionized Field on Buildings Near HVDC Transmission Lines

The ionized field (also named total electric field) on residential buildings near HVDC transmission lines is an important factor that affects the line design. When considering the impact of residential buildings on the distortion of total electric fields, a three-dimensional total electric field calculation method must be used for prediction. This article investigates the charge simulation method for calculating the space-charge-free electric field in the flux tracing method, as well as the parallel method for flux line calculation. Furthermore, it uses numerical experiments to study the effects of parallel thread count and simulation charge count on parallel performance. The results demonstrate that the parallel flux tracing method proposed in this article can significantly enhance the calculation speed of simulating charge and flux lines. Additionally, it can still maintain excellent parallel performance under engineering parameters. Consequently, it can greatly expedite the calculation and analysis of three-dimensional total electric fields near residential buildings on HVDC lines. According to numerical experimental results conducted under engineering parameters, an acceleration ratio of between 10 and 35 is observed.
