Frequency Reconfigurable Two-Port Antenna for Multi-Band Wireless Applications

In this paper, the MIMO antenna with frequency reconfigurability is proposed. The proposed compact singlelayer MIMO antenna achieves frequency reconfigurability by altering the excitation of different ports, which are fed using microstrip lines. To enhance the antenna’s performance and bandwidth, a split ring resonator (SRR) is incorporated. The antenna’s dimensions of $35 \times 90 \times 0.8 \mathrm{~mm}^{3}$ make it ideal for compact applications. It offers a broad bandwidth of about 420 MHz, specifically targeting the ($3.9-5.9 \mathrm{GHz}$) frequency band. The antenna exhibits versatility, being usable at different frequencies within the ranges of $(4.63-5.1 \mathrm{GHz})$ and $(6-6.2 \mathrm{GHz})$, catering to various wideband applications. This design presents a promising solution for wireless communication systems requiring compact and frequency-agile antennas with enhanced performance characteristics. The proposed antenna achieves circular polarization.
