An Interdisciplinary Approach to the Training of Construction Specialists Within the Framework of the Profile “Organization and Management of Investment and Construction Activities”

The article shows that the investment and construction complex of Russia is in dire need of specialists in the field of construction who must independently solve engineering and technical problems of any complexity. Effective training of highly qualified personnel is possible when developing educational programs based on the interdisciplinary and competency-based approach. An example is the unique bachelor's program “Organization of investment and construction activities” developed to train a manager (customer, developer) of an investment project in the construction sector. The educational program was developed by the Department of Construction Materials and Road Technologies of Lipetsk State Technical University with the active participation of leading construction enterprises and organizations in the construction industry of the Lipetsk region, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Iraq. Its specificity and uniqueness lie in the possibility of training highly qualified specialists in the field of construction, development, project management and finance, who have competence in Building Information Model for buildings and structures at all stages of the life cycle. This approach is in demand in the labor market both for construction enterprises that organize and carry out investment and construction activities, and for companies financing construction projects Building Information Model (BIM) perform several functions. The use of these technologies makes it possible to reduce the implementation time of an investment and construction project, significantly reduce its cost and improve quality.
