An Approach for Teaching Signal Theory using Calculation Tools

This work describes the teaching proposal implemented in the subject Introduction to Signal Theory, corresponding to the Electromedicine University Technician degree at the Faculty of Engineering-UNCPBA. The detailed approach given to the subject matter in the degree context is presented together with the teaching proposal through the use of numerical calculation and signal processing tools. This proposal aims to use rigorous mathematical foundations to the extent necessary according to the professional to be trained. The methodological aspects of the teaching proposal are presented, its central aspects are discussed, and examples of the use of calculation tools and simulation software used during the development of the subject matter are presented.
