Spatial Localization Using Acoustic Intensity Techniques for Binaural Audio Applications

This paper proposes to use acoustic intensity techniques to identify the direction of arrival of sound to an individual wearing a hearing aid. Once the direction of the incident signal is known, a transfer function-based model will be used to generate binaural audio for a more realistic listening experience. In a closed environment, sound reflection off the walls significantly affects the three-dimensional perception of the audio, which can reduce the quality of binaural sound. This work also aims to model, analyze and propose solutions to this problem.
