Arduino-Based Recreation of Telecommunication Systems

This project is proposed to first-year students as a guided practice to familiarize them with the general challenges of electronics in telecommunication systems. It addresses aspects such as analog design for detection, microcontroller programming for digital processing, and actuator control. This practice includes two electronic systems in the field of Telecommunications. First, one called Optotheremin, a replica of the classic Theremin musical instrument based on a microcontroller and an optical sensor; second, a communication system based on light pulses and Morse code. Evaluation surveys reported student satisfaction.
