MASROOFI: Saudi Canteen Management System and more

The education sector has been slow to adopt online payment systems, resulting in outdated manual and paper-based processes that lead to inefficiencies and errors. School canteens often face long waiting times and limited options for students with dietary restrictions. To understand these challenges, this paper conducted interviews and surveys with parents and schools. The findings revealed several issues related to payment delays, manual record-keeping, and a lack of cashless payment options. Embracing a school payment management system can improve communication with parents and lead to more effective and efficient school finance management. Therefore, we propose Masroofi, a mobile-friendly web-based cashless payment management system that offers a unified platform for parents, canteen moderators, and school administrators to manage payments, orders, school activities, and student information. This paper examines the potential advantages and challenges of Masroofi, as well as critical factors for its success. By adopting Masroofi, schools can reduce inefficiencies, improve record-keeping, and offer a more convenient and secure payment experience for parents and students alike.
