Usability Evaluation of EvalCOMIX-FLOASS: A Virtual Environment for the Assessment of Learning Outcomes

EvaICOMIX-FLOASS is a virtual environment implemented as a web service integrated into Moodle that allows the assessment of learning outcomes. To that end, EvaICOMIX-FLOASS allows the development of various assessment tools and the integration of different assessment strategies, such as peer assessment or self-assessment. In this way, the tool facilitates the task of evaluating learning outcomes and, at the same time, allows determining the extent to which related competencies have been achieved. With the aim of promoting technology transfer and improving user interaction with the tool, a comprehensive usability evaluation was carried out with users, both teachers and students, as well as an evaluation carried out by usability experts. In this paper we present the methodology used for the evaluation and the results obtained after analysing the information collected. The results highlight the relevance of conducting usability evaluations in the context of educational tools.
