Multiport Current Fed Push/Pull Partial Power Converter for Battery Integration in DC Microgrid

The idea of a partial power converter or PPC, has been widely used in many two-port networks to replace the full power converter so that input and output are connected in series to obtain high efficiency and high power density. Although the PPC has been utilized in two-port applications, an investigation on PPC in the multiport application is still needed. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine a generalized PPC multiport system network. In this paper, a dual-input single-output (DISO) system is proposed that connects the battery packs to the dc bus through the individual dc-dc cell which makes the two PPC submodules. Moreover, this paper used a current-fed resonant push-pull configuration in PPC to offer an economical solution with soft switching. The proposed DISO-PPC system is verified through PSIM simulation along with battery current control while varying battery voltages.
