Detection of Nucleotides Using Gold Nanoprisms Immobilized on Glass

Gold nanoparticles have a wide range of application areas, including drugdelivery systems, catalysts, and biosensors. Our long-term aim is to create biosensors from gold nanoparticles based on localized surface plasmon resonance. In order to achieve this objective, the immobilization of the nanoprisms on a solid surface (e.g. glass) is of paramount importance. Different methods were tested to obtain reproducible results. This work presents the experiments regarding the immobilization of the synthetized particles and the successful binding of nucleotides to the nanoprisms. The nucleotides were detected using Raman-spectroscopy.
