A Variable Neighborhood Search Algorithm for Drone-Truck Joint Distribution Problem

Delivery with drones combines the advantages of short delivery time, low cost and reduced road congestion. The joint delivery of trucks and drones to serve the customers in a community is the breakthrough to solve the problem of the last-mile delivery. We propose an arc-based mixed integer programming model with the aim of the lowest total distribution cost. We verify the effectiveness of Variable Neighborhood Search(VNS) algorithm in solving the model.
