Design of a Flat Coil Electrothermal Vaporization Device for Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry

This article presents an analysis on developing an innovative filament design for the electrothermal evaporation process. This new concept enhances stability and repeatability, thereby improving measurement precision in multi-element analysis using atomic spectrometry. This study details various constructive solutions that have been implemented, providing an in-depth analysis of the results obtained, as well as an evaluation of their advantages and disadvantages in relation to the multi-elemental analysis process. This evaluation is conducted using COMSOL Multiphysics, a tool dedicated to finite element simulations suited to these types of analysis. Additionally, the research explores the possibility of supplying power to the filament in a controlled manner using a laboratory power supply together with different optimization methods for the evaporation process, implemented in LabView.
