Printed Temperature Sensors on Paper with Aerosol Jet Printing Technology

Aerosol Jet Printing (AJP) is a recent digital technology that can be used to manufacture a wide range of sensors thanks to its high resolution. This article presents the production of a temperature sensor via AJP technology on a paper substrate. Optimization and characterization studies were performed by using the resistance of printed components where in-house inks were introduced to the process. The sensor can be used in a temperature range of 20 to 50°C and is flexible due to the use of a paper substrate. The pattern has an average thickness of 3 μm. The lower resistivity obtained is around 0.14 Ω.cm. The sensor demonstrates good linear behaviour and a sensitivity of 0.49 %.°C
