Video Image Quality Evaluation Method for Highway Video Cloud Networking Test

To accelerate the construction of a “visible, measurable, controllable, serviceable” highway operation monitoring system and better meet people’s travel needs, the Ministry of Transport has carried out video network monitoring of highway across the country. For the key system and equipment in highway video cloud networking project, video cloud gateway and video cloud platform,test methods and processes are proposed. Based on “ Technical Requirements for National Highway Video Cloud Networking “, first, technical route of national highway video cloud networking is analyzed. Then, test contents and processes are proposed for functional requirements of video cloud gateway and provincial video cloud platform, such as functional interface and system stability, and the test platform is developed to provide interconnection and interoperability between provincial and ministerial video cloud platform. On this basis, image structure similarity index measure is used to evaluate video image quality. The result shows that image quality evaluation results based on structure similarity are more consistent with human visual perception. Finally, common problems are analyzed and summarized during the testing of video cloud networking products.
