Technology Effects on OTA Performance: A Comparative Study of 32nm CMOS and CNFET Technology

In recent years transistor scaling plays an important role which makes the transistor to be faster and also brings its own disadvantages by reducing its performance. The Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA) is known for its nonlinear applications like filters, oscillators, etc. The transconductance (gm) of the OTA is controlled by the bias current. The OTA is designed using 32nm CMOS and using CNTFET. A comparative analysis of both of these technology nodes is done. The performance parameters taken for comparison are gain, phase margin, bandwidth, cutoff frequency, CMRR, and slew rate which explains the effects of technology scaling. The design of second order Butterworth filter is designed using Gm-C method in CMOS and CNTFET 32 nm single stage OTA circuit implementing feedforward technique.
