Design and Analysis of Binary to Gray and Gray to Binary Code Converter Using QCA Technology

This study delves into the exploration of Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) technology as a promising avenue for the advancement of computing in upcoming generations. QCA stands poised to revolutionize the landscape of computing with its array of advantages, including reduced power consumption, heightened operational speeds, and the potential to transcend the limitations of conventional CMOS technology. Our research focuses on the design and analysis of binary-to-Gray and Gray-to-binary code converters spanning a range of bit sizes from 2 to 4 bits. By examining factors such as temperature sensitivity, area utilization, and cell count as compared to previous designs, we aim to highlight the unique strengths of QCA in comparison to CMOS technology, while also considering previous QCA converter designs. Additionally, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of power consumption disparities between QCA and CMOS implementations, offering insights into their respective energy efficiencies. Through this research endeavor, we endeavor to provide valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges presented by QCA technology in the realm of practical circuit design, paving the way for its integration and potentially reshaping the future landscape of computing.
