Analyzing the Impact of Absorbing Coating on the Electromagnetic Scattering Characteristics of Broadband Communication Cavity Targets

For broadband microwave communication applications that leveraging Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology, the combined Finite Element Method-Boundary Element Method (FEM-BEM) is employed to investigate the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of two-dimensional cavity targets coated with diverse absorbing materials. This paper rigorously calculates and analyzes the influence of several typical absorbing materials, inlcuding lossy isotropy, positive uniaxial anisotropy, and negative uniaxial anisotropy, on the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the broadband communication cavity targets. Additionally, the effects of anisotropic absorbing materials with different coating thicknesses are presented and discussed on the electromagnetic scattering characteristics. The investigation offers significant insights into how various absorbing materials and their respective thicknesses can impact the performance of broadband microwave communication systems.
