An Ultra-Sensitive MXene Mediated Surface plasmon resonance sensor using Bi-metallayers

In this paper, an MXene (Ti
3
C
2
Tx) mediated surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on bimetal (Copper-Nickle (Cu-Ni)) is suggested. MXene, a new class of2D-nanomaterials is an emerging material that has attracted increasing attention for sensing applications. The application of MXene-based SPR is still increasing the attention of researchers. In this work, MATLAB and COMSOL simulations have been used to investigate the suggested sensor performance analytically. The MXene layer is enhanced the sensitivity to an optimum level using bi-metal (Cu-Ni) layers. The higher sensitivity of 290.26°/RIU was achieved with a monolayer of MXene at a 633nm wavelength. Biorecognition elements (BRE) are used as the MXene layer for chemical sensing, thus opening up new research possibilities.
