Design and Implementation of Ultra Wide Band High-Precision Positioning System for Dynamic Scenes

Ultra Wide Band (UWB) positioning systems are regarded as excellent solutions due to their ability to acquire position coordinates with high precision. However, a large number of base stations in a complex and dynamic environment causes a problem in positioning. We proposed a UWB high-precision positioning system to overcome such a limitation causing lowered quantity and slow positioning speed. The system utilizes short-range rapid positioning modules based on the DW3000 series chips and employs an improved double-sided two-way raining communication strategy to measure the relative distances between tags. Subsequently, these data are inputted into the multidimensional scaling algorithm to determine the relative coordinates of each node and initialize the system. In dynamic scenes, the system combines the least squares method and trilateration algorithm to estimate the changes in node coordinates and motion trajectories, enabling mutual positioning among multiple tags. The positioning method does not rely on fixed base stations but accurately measures node distances, and estimates positions, providing an effective and feasible solution for relative positioning in complex application environments.
