Impact of Isolated Forest on Ecosystem Service Value in Chengdu

Ecosystem Service Value (ESV) is a prominent research topic in modern ecology. Ecological land provides essential ecosystem services for maintaining ecological equilibrium and ensures national ecological security to address global climate change. This research project commenced by examining ecosystem service functions and establishing the concept of ecological land. It included a detailed statistical analysis of land utilization across five categories of ecological land in Chengdu spanning from 2000 to 2022. By utilizing the ESV equivalent scale developed by Peng Wenfu tailored to Chengdu's specific context, we estimated the ESV of the region and pinpointed outliers through the isolation forest technique. The findings revealed a decline in ESV within the study area attributed to changes in land use, primarily driven by diverse ecosystems like cropland, forest, and water bodies, characterized by a relatively simplistic structure. The total ESV decreased by 3.616 million RMB between 2000 and 2022 in the study area, with the most substantial impact stemming from alterations in cropland and forest, whereas variations in grassland, water bodies, and bare land had minor effects. The analysis of outliers indicated concentrations in 2000 and 2022 as discrepancies in the influence of different land use types on ESVs resulted from varying ESV coefficients. The magnitude of ecosystem service pricing directly indicates the resilience and robustness of each region's capacity, offering a scientific foundation for timely resource preservation strategies in individual areas.
