Exploring Preliminary Framework of Computer-Aided Evaluation of Knowledge System: A Case Study on Infant Stroller Products

We developed a framework for a computer-aided evaluation knowledge system (CAEKS) for the new product innovation and planning of the stroller industry. CAEKS was adopted to enhance product development efficiency. We evaluated competing products through CAEKS to overcome traditional inefficiencies and create the optimal system structure for strategic planning of stroller innovation. An educational platform for students, employees, and professionals was provided for related tasks, narrowing the knowledge gap efficiently. We conducted expert interviews and functional and morphological analyses to compare information and activities. Data from several databases were extracted, generalized, and classified to translate customer requirements into product functionalities with an emphasis on technical and methodological considerations. The data were used for new product evaluations. The framework can be used to understand market trends and analyze competitor products effectively. It also can be used to guide the initial phases of innovative product design and the development of innovative design concepts.
