Charging Station Locating Considering Economic Operation of Distribution Networks

Aware that the location of charging stations will greatly influence the electric vehicles (EVs) charging demand reasonable planning of charging stations is beneficial to the economic operation of the distribution network. To address these challeneges, this paper proposes an optimal locating method for charging stations to achieve the economic operation of the distribution network. Firstly, a dynamic transport network model is established to accurately simulate the travel paths of EVs, in which the Floyd algorithm is applied to determine the shortest way between two nodes in the road network. Secondly, combined with the transport model and location of charging stations, the EVs charging load of each node can be calculated based on their charging demand and parking time Finally, involving the charging load of EVs in the distribution network, the power flow is optimized to minimize the cost of power purchased from the grid. Case studies demonstrate the impact of charging station location on the economic operation of the distribution network. Moreover, the reasonable location of the charging stations is beneficial to improve the overall operating efficiency of the distribution network.
