Model Predictive Control Based Regulation Strategy for Electric Vehicles in Substation Areas

The centralized connection of a large number of electric vehicles charging loads to the distribution network will have many adverse effects. Firstly, analyze the influencing factors of electric vehicle load in residential areas, and conduct random sampling based on the probability density function of the main influencing factors. Establish a charging load model for electric vehicles in residential areas using Monte Carlo method. Then, a model predictive control based optimization control model for charging and discharging power was proposed. The proposed method can flatten the curve of exchange power in residential communities. At the node operating level, it can balance three-phase loads and meet the basic charging needs of electric vehicles. Finally, the smoothing effect of the control model on the exchange power curve of the substation and the three-phase load balancing effect were verified through numerical examples, and the effectiveness of charging and discharging power distribution for electric vehicles within the node was verified.
