Optimal Planning of Consumer-Side Energy Storage Participating in Auxiliary Services

In order to maximise the benefits of consumer-side energy storage, a method for optimal allocation of consumer-side energy storage for participation in the ancillary services market is proposed. First,the full life cycle cost of user-side energy storage and the benefits considering ancillary services are modelled. Secondly, under the two-part tariff system, based on the consideration of the energy storage pool operation characteristics and user load characteristics, a consumer-side energy storage optimal allocation model with participation in auxiliary services is established, and the net benefit of the whole life cycle of industrial users is optimally calculated with the energy storage capacity and the auxiliary service parameters as optimisation variables. The net benefit of industrial users over the whole life cycle is optimised using the storage capacity and auxiliary service parameters as optimisation variables. Then, taking Guangxi energy storage auxiliary service market as an example, the allocation optimisation under the optimal capacity of user-side energy storage is achieved, and the values of variables involved in auxiliary services are determined. Finally, the economic benefits of different auxiliary services are analysed by changing the policy sensitivity, which provides guiding opinions for the subsequent energy storage investment.
